The fourteenth edition of the international festival of new media culture Speculum Artium will be held from 22 to 24 September 2022 in Trbovlje and will present renowned works of art created at the intersection of art, science, technology, and economy. At a time when technological progress is increasingly associated with desolation, Speculum Artium is reorienting itself through art towards the well-being of humanity and nature.

Visitors to the festival will have the chance to play an instrument virtually, listen to a two-meter high talking human sculpture, turn coal dust into stardust with movement, print a personal traditional textile pattern, watch a fish control the movement of its aquarium, learn about the cure for depressed octopuses and discover the secrets of the Carniolan honey bee.

The festival program will be accompanied by meetings with artists and scientists, expert panels, workshops, and guided tours. The DigitalBigScreen International Video Festival will also take place at the same time, highlighting the latest developments in video creation in a 360° environment. The festival will again be free of charge for participants.

This year's Speculum Artium Festival will feature the works of Nika Oblak and Primož Novak, Marko Batista, Valerie Wolf Gang, Saša Nemec, Stanza, Varvara & Mar, Fabricio Lamoncha Martinez, the Academy of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, Tampere University, ITMO University, and many others.
