On Wednesday, 17 May 2023, at 10 a.m., we invite you to the opening of an exhibition in augmented reality, which you will be able to experience with the LutkAR app. After the official opening, there will be a informal gathering at the Maribor Puppet Museum, north of Vojašniški trg.

The Maribor Puppet Theatre, in cooperation with the Association for Contemporary Art X-OP and KIBLA2LAB, has developed the LutkAR app for the Puppet Museum, which enhances the displays of exhibits of material cultural heritage with modern technologies and new-media processes.

LutkAR is a fun and educational application through which we wanted to breathe life into the exhibition, just as a puppeteer breathes life into a previously inanimate object, a puppet, through his animation. The exhibition space will thus be further animated through the app. We focused on augmented reality, on audio-visual production and on the combination of original pictorial material and photogrammetry.

You can try out LutkAR at the Puppetry Museum of the Maribor Puppet Theatre during opening hours on Fridays from 5pm to 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm and from 5pm to 7pm.

The LutkAR app, developed by the Maribor Puppet Theatre in collaboration with the Association for Contemporary Art X-OP and KIBLA2LAB, is part of a pilot project selected through the KID PINA call for proposals as part of the RUK Network (JP-PR-RUK_1_ 2022), co-funded by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia (Ministry of Culture).
